Active ingredient: Cyproheptadine
Periactin, select dosage: 4 mg
Order Periactin (Cyproheptadine)
Pharmachologic effect:
Periactin has antihistamine activity (blocks H1 receptors), but at the same time it is a strong antiserotonin substance (reduces spasmogenic and other effects caused by serotonin). It also has anticholinergic activity. It has an antiallergic effect, and is especially effective for itchy dermatoses (possibly due to its antiserotonin effect). The drug blocks hypersecretion of somatotropin in acromegaly.
Indications for use:
Used for allergic diseases (acute and chronic urticaria, serum sickness, hay fever, vasomotor rhinitis, contact dermatitis, neurodermatitis, Quincke’s edema, allergic reactions to medications, etc.), as well as for migraines (mainly due to the antiserotonin effect) , with loss of appetite of various etiologies (neurogenic anorexia, chronic diseases, etc.).
Due to the fact that histamine and serotonin increase the secretion of pancreatic juice, it has also been proposed to use periactin in the complex therapy of chronic pancreatitis.
Mode of application:
Prescribed orally: adults 4 mg (1 tablet) 3-4 times a day, children in smaller doses according to age. At the age of 6 months to 2 years, prescribed with caution in a daily dose of up to 0.4 mg/kg; from 2 to 6 years – up to 6 mg per day (1/2 tablet 3 times a day); from 6 to 14 years – up to 12 mg per day (1 tablet 3 times a day). Daily doses should not exceed 32 mg for adults, 8 mg for children 2 – 6 years old, 12 mg for children 6 – 14 years old.

Periactin (Cyproheptadine) for migraines:
Migraine is a headache that occurs in attacks and can recur after some time.
What are the causes of migraine?
The main cause of the development of the disease is not fully understood, but scientists have concluded that during a headache attack, blood flow to the brain due to dilation of blood vessels.
Due to stress, poor nutrition, lack of sleep and a huge number of everyday problems, the patient’s condition can worsen. In this case, proper rest, 8 hours of sleep and diet help. In addition, you should be careful when consuming foods containing cocoa, citrus fruits, blue wine and cheese. You should also avoid using perfume, and also have less contact with tobacco smoke and exhaust fumes.
What is the difference between migraine with and without aura?
There are two types of migraine:
- with aypo;
- without aura.
Some people suffer from a separate type of this disease, and some patients suffer from both types of migraine, which replace each other at different points in life.
Any type of migraine has specific symptoms before the onset of an attack (prodrome):
- mood swings;
- feeling of anxiety;
- changes in the sense of touch and smell;
- unreasonable fatigue or increased strength.
Before the onset of migraine with aura, additional symptoms appear:
- visual disturbance with double vision and sensation of flashes in the eyes;
- change in sensations on one side of the face or body (numbness, tingling);
What are the symptoms of migraine?
Both migraine with and without aura have the same attack symptoms, these are:
- severe headache with a tendency to increase pain when moving;
- in the vast majority of cases, the localization of pain is one-sided and occurs over the eyes, sometimes in both temples;
- sensitivity to loud sounds and bright lights;
- nausea;
- vomit.
The duration of the attack varies from several hours to several days. After the attack, the patient feels very tired and loses the ability to concentrate.
How is migraine treated?
Treatment of the disease is complex and aimed at preventing relapses and relieving symptoms. The treatment regimen is prescribed by the doctor, based on the characteristics of the patient, the severity of the disease and the frequency of attacks. Among the drugs, the drug Periactin is often prescribed, which has an antiserotonin (relieves spasms) and antiemetic effect. Periactin can be bought online without a prescription, but you should take the medicine after consulting your doctor.

It looks specifically at connections between the house Ludwig Wittgenstein built for his sister in Vienna and the Cone House from Thomas Bernhard’s novel, Korrectur. He traveled to Austria to film these real and imagined spaces, creating his own architecture to install these films into.
